Pottery Teacher

Community Clay is seeking experienced pottery teachers.

We are always looking for experienced pottery teachers in wheel, handbuilding, and sculpture!

​​​

Schedule and employment details

  • Hours: 30 min setup, class time, then 30 mins cleanup.

  • Employment type: 1099 contract.​

  • Availability: weekends and evenings.

  • Base rate $22/hr

    • bonuses per student for one-time classes, which often brings the rate to over $30 per hour

    • tip eligible, tipped directly to your Venmo! 

Key responsibilities

Communication

  • Be outgoing, be fun, be kind. Pottery knowledge is of course important, and treating everyone with kindness and respect is #1. 

Education

  • Deep knowledge of the lifecycle of clay, plus very good skills with wheel, handbuilding, or sculpture.

Requirements and skills

  • 3+ years experience in pottery - wheel, handbuilding, or sculpture.

  • Very good verbal and written communication skills.

  • Attention to detail and ability to work independently. 

Training and growth

  • Many of our teachers also do other jobs at the studio! Willingness to learn tech work a plus.
