The Art Club at Community Clay: Watercolor
Community Clay is excited to introduce The Art Club, a new open-studio styled series where we’ll explore non-ceramic arts and crafts together. Think painting, collage, fiber arts, and other creative experiments. Each session will feature a different project and all materials will be provided. No clay, no pressure, just play.
This week, we will play with watercolor! Enjoy a relaxing evening of creativity. We have everything you need, brushes, paper, and pigments. You are welcome to use our paints or bring your own.
One RSVP reserves your spot and materials for the evening. Space is limited. BYOB

Ceramic Dry Erase Boards
Join us for a creative evening of clay and community! In this guided workshop, you’ll design and build 2 ceramic dry-erase to do list boards, functional, one-of-a-kind pieces perfect for notes, reminders, creative doodling or just a place to hang your keys. You’ll shape two boards by hand and add surface details. Choose either holes to hang your piece on your wall or magnets for your fridge!
Sunday, January 18, 6-8 PM
Location: Community Clay, 3349 Blake Street, Denver
Spaces are limited. This is a beginner-friendly workshop! No experience needed, just come ready to play with clay. You will be sculpting using your hands and a variety of tools to form the clay instead of a pottery wheel.

Solo Exhibition, by Artist in Residence, Ally Grimm
COMPRESSION celebrates the conclusion of Community Clay’s debut residency program with artist Ally Grimm (A.L. Grime).
As a muralist, Grimm came into the residency program as a blank slate, ready to learn various techniques through Community Clay’s educational program. She was given unrestricted access to the studio to experiment and find her voice in a new medium.
Date: Saturday, January 17
Time: 5:00-8:00pm. Artist's talk at 6pm
Location: Community Clay, 3349 Blake Street, Denver
This closing exhibition will feature a mural painted by Grimm in the studio entryway alongside a selection of ceramic works created during her time in residence.
Join us for food, drinks, and art on Saturday, January 17. The artist will be in attendance and ceramic pieces will be available for purchase.

Try It Night! January: A one-time class to try the wheel
Want to try the pottery wheel? Join us for a fun evening of craft and community at Community Clay in RiNo!
Whether you're new to pottery or just looking for a unique evening activity with new friends, our Try It Night is the perfect way to try something new, connect with a creative community, and experience the joy of working with clay.
We keep our classes small to ensure you get the attention and instruction you need, so spaces are limited.
No need to bring anything with you except your creativity! We provide aprons, clay, tools, and an encouraging atmosphere. This is a one-time event. We will fire your piece in the kiln, glaze it for you, and have it ready for pickup in about 3 weeks.
When: Friday, January 16 @ 6:00-8:00 pm
Where: 3349 Blake St., Denver, CO
About your teacher: Ethan received his BFA from Alfred University in 2023. Currently his work explores storytelling through vessels that combine wheel and handbuilding as well as other mediums.

Join us for an evening of creative storytelling through paper! We’ll provide a variety of journals (or bring your own!) plus papers, ephemera and embellishments to get you started. You’re welcome to bring any personal materials you’d like to include in your journal. No experience needed, just come ready to hang out and create!
Art Club events are held in an open-studio format rather than a structured workshop. A host will guide the theme and provide light instruction with no set curriculum, just space to socialize and create at your own pace.
