Steven Yazzie
Summer 2026
Steven Yazzie is a contemporary artist whose work explores identity, landscape, memory, and the relationships that connect people to place. Drawing inspiration from the Southwest and his Diné (Navajo) heritage, Yazzie creates deeply thoughtful works that balance abstraction with storytelling. His paintings invite viewers to slow down, reflect, and discover meaning through color, texture, and gesture.
Throughout his career, Yazzie has exhibited nationally and earned recognition for creating work that bridges personal experience with universal themes of belonging, resilience, and connection. His artwork can be found in numerous public and private collections, and his commitment to community engagement has made him a respected educator and mentor alongside his studio practice.
